SC MEMBER OF THE MONTH: tHERESA DUNCAN
What brought you to Jibe? How long have you been a member?
I opened my cheer gym in Aug 2024 and coached college cheer and continuously felt drained. I felt I didn’t have time to pour back into myself. I was weak, tired, and hangry all the time.
Then, at Father’s Day dinner, my amazing sister in law, Molly Duncan, Bike 44, invited me to go with her. I joined her on June 19, 2025, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
What accomplishments/milestones are you most proud of thus far?
I want to celebrate my consistency. I’m almost 60 rides in at the end of August. This is an everyday thing for me. I appreciate the routine it has set for my mornings. I get on Bike 43 and chat it up with the girlies in the back row. I sweat to fun remixes on a bike that goes nowhere. Then, after, there’s coffee with Molly, and we solve the world’s problems. Then I go about my day. It’s perfect. My mornings are PERFECT! And my mornings are mine again. And I’m really proud of reclaiming them.
Another accomplishment is just feeling stronger. My job is physically demanding when it comes to stunts and tumbling. Life is also very demanding. So the fact that I FEEL stronger gives me more confidence to take on the day ahead.
What is your most memorable experience at Jibe thus far?
So many.
-Cheer Team rides. Core memories.
-My 2-year marriage anniversary ride with my husband and Kat M took song requests from our wedding playlist. It was so thoughtful that she did that for us.
-That Reputation hill ride. I literally shed one gangster tear. lol. It was incredible.
What’s your favorite part about Jibe?
The vibe and the energy. The staff are excited and happy to see you. Then the ride starts, and the playlist and lights are going. The class is filled with go-getters like me who always bring their best. I’m surrounded by good energy and hard work first thing in the morning. I love it when the whole room catches the vibe.
Also, I look forward to that ice-cold towel. Shout out to the cold towels.
Cheers, Coach Dunc
